Seminars for newly elected church leaders

The Communion Office of the LWF in Geneva invites church leaders from member churches (e.g., bishops, regional bishops, church presidents, etc.) who have assumed office in recent years. In Geneva, they learn about the structures of the Lutheran World Federation and its cooperation with international organizations and come into contact with the people leading the LWF. In the second part of the seminar, in Wittenberg, they study texts by Martin Luther and take part in an intensive exchange of views on aspects of Lutheran theology and issues of leadership responsibility in their respective contexts. They also visit the historic Luther sites and get an insight into the religious situation in central Germany. The identity of Lutheran Christians in each country is strengthened and the LWF now gets a face. The result is a special community of colleagues who can network and consult with each other. The seminars are held in English.
